- What is client concentration risk?
- It's how much of your income depends on a single client. If one client pays most of your bills, a budget cut, a new manager or a lost contract on their side can wipe out your month with no warning.
- What percentage of income from one client is too much?
- A common rule of thumb is to keep any single client under about 30% of your income. This calculator calls 30% to 50% medium risk and 50% or more high risk. These are guidelines, not hard limits.
- How is the runway calculated?
- It removes your top client's income, compares what's left with your monthly expenses, and divides your savings by the monthly shortfall. If your other clients still cover your expenses, the runway shows as covered.
- How do I reduce dependence on one client?
- Keep a few sales conversations going every week even while you're fully booked, raise prices or add a retainer with smaller clients, and track follow-ups so new work starts before you need it.
- Is my data saved or sent anywhere?
- No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is stored or sent to a server, and no login is needed.
